Bookmark This Bookmarc.

No celebrities and PR personnel at sight. The world's first Marc Jacobs: Bookmarc had a unusually quiet opening after several "tip-offs" (via Twitter) from long-time friend and business partner of Marc Jacobs, Robert Duffy.

The previous tenant "Biography Book Shop" situated at the corner of Bleecker Street has reincarnated to fashion designer, Marc Jacobs latest brand diffusion. Considered as a complete overhaul, the vibe of the new Bookmarc is a good representation of the designer's personality and design aesthetics - hip and quirky.

Bookmarc is currently stocked with kitschy Marc Jacobs stationery, postcards featuring original art and fashion photography; blank notebooks with reinterpreted 'classic' literary titles that are awfully tongue-in-cheek; breakfast at Bleeker much?

Fans of the "special items" range from the Marc By Marc Jacobs range will be hyped to realise that prices for these Marc-branded school supplies are extremely economical and friendly to college pockets; most non-leather products are priced under $30...now REJOICE!

Designers & Disney

I had an extremely bad day yesterday and these images brought a smile to my face! Fashion designers personified by Disney cartoon characters. Disney cartoonist Ulrich Schroder has ingeniously turned the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Stefano Gabbana & Domenico Dolce, John Galliano, Donatella Versace, John Paul Gaultier, Sonia & Nathalie Rykiel and Alber Elbaz into classic Disney characters for the April 2010 issue of Elle Spain.

Take A Breath

As stupid as it may sound, Marc Jacobs will be releasing his very own...air freshener (I know, right?!) which will be part of his Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume.
The air freshener is capped in a limited-edition blue bottle with Daisy's distinctive strawberry, grapefruit, violet, and vanilla accents. And for all Daisy's aficionados, a long "daisy garland" full of thick synthetic flowers drenched in Marc Jacob's scent will be included as well. You can thereby hang the garland in your bedroom to enhance the scent experience.

Marc Jacobs To Be Knighted

CONGRATULATIONS to my favourite designer of all time, Marc Jacobs. He will be knighted for all the contributions he had for the fashion and arts industry.

According to The Huffington Post:

Designer Marc Jacobs will become a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) in Paris on Friday, WWD reports. He was picked thanks to his services to the fashion industry.

Jacobs was the Council of Fashion Designers of America Women's Designer of the Year in 1992 and has been at Louis Vuitton since 1997. He also has his own fashion lines.

A complete contrast to Daisy
“Where Daisy is more innocent and sweet, Lola is more sensual. The name conjures up a flirtatious, warm spirit" - Marc Jacobs
Notes include pink peppercorn, pear d’anjou and ruby red grapefruit...fuchsia peony, rose and geranium, vanilla, tonka bean and creamy musk.

Tatu For Marc Jacobs

After stuffing Victoria Beckham into a huge paper bag, this autumn Mr Jacobs has recruited Russian pop act to be the face of his Autumn/Winter campaign. How MJ is that?!
