Bookmark This Bookmarc.

No celebrities and PR personnel at sight. The world's first Marc Jacobs: Bookmarc had a unusually quiet opening after several "tip-offs" (via Twitter) from long-time friend and business partner of Marc Jacobs, Robert Duffy.

The previous tenant "Biography Book Shop" situated at the corner of Bleecker Street has reincarnated to fashion designer, Marc Jacobs latest brand diffusion. Considered as a complete overhaul, the vibe of the new Bookmarc is a good representation of the designer's personality and design aesthetics - hip and quirky.

Bookmarc is currently stocked with kitschy Marc Jacobs stationery, postcards featuring original art and fashion photography; blank notebooks with reinterpreted 'classic' literary titles that are awfully tongue-in-cheek; breakfast at Bleeker much?

Fans of the "special items" range from the Marc By Marc Jacobs range will be hyped to realise that prices for these Marc-branded school supplies are extremely economical and friendly to college pockets; most non-leather products are priced under $30...now REJOICE!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Eyewear

Safilo will be releasing a new range of Marc by Marc Jacobs optical frames. The range of spectacles will take inspiration and elements from frames of the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

According to Safilo - "This vintage-inspired collection suits current styles. Young and modern, this collection is created for those who, conscious and sure of their own style, are searching for quality products and original Marc Jacobs details, but at an affordable price."

The new Marc by Marc Jacobs collection of sunglasses and optical frames should be hitting later this year. Prices range from $140 to $180. Please visit Safilo's website for more details.

Audi Fashion Festival, Singapore - Day 3

Third day of the Audi Fashion Festival...an exciting day indeed! Both Marc by Marc Jacobs and Ashley Isham's collection were sent down the runway. For the Marc by Marc Jacobs show, the term "convict" seems to be taken a lil' too literal. With the pieces being so ultra wearable, young, fresh and pretty...I don't think anybody in the right mind would mind serving that "jail term" for the designer. Ashley Isham presented his couture showcase just two hours later and by far, the collection is totally grande gorgeousness...A complete stunner!
