With all the recent movies watched (Mama Mia, Mirrors,Housebunny and Disaster Movie...erm yea it was painful), in my opinion...this was the best among all. With "random" castings like Mischa Barton, Neve Campbell and veterans like Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer as well... Richard Attenborough did a pretty good job with "Closing The Ring". Well the plot was pretty much "been there, done that" (WWII era romance) but the love involved was beautiful. As a young Ethel Ann, even Mischa Barton was convincing (despite Virgin Territory) and as usual both Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer delivered powerful performances.
All in all, Closing The Ring was emotionally engaging.
