Lauren Conrad has landed her first major gig as a designer.
The Hills star, 22, will design a couture gown for the women handing out statuettes at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards (airing September 21 on ABC).
“I am so excited that the Academy has asked me to design a dress for this year’s Emmy Awards,” she said in a statement Wednesday. “I will be doing a red carpet look that still reflects the simple classic design of the Lauren Conrad Collection but with a black tie twist.”
Added Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich: “We are very excited to have someone as talented as Lauren Conrad working with us to help make this a very memorable and exciting show.”
Conrad recently denied reports that she is not involved in the creation of her clothing line.
