Take It From The Boys

Dsquared² Spring 2011, I am in absolute love with this collection. Dean and Dan Caten took cues from menswear and it speaks volume of the Milan menswear fashion scene; very much like Scott Schuman's "The Sartorialist." We see 'masculine' models wearing plaid bermuda shorts and oxfords strutting down the runway. Who do I see wearing this collection - Brad Goreski lol!

Taylor Momsen For Parlez-moi d'amour

The first episode of Gossip Girl season 4 was amazing *as usual* sans Jenny Humphrey. Initially, we were all taken aback when we found out that John Galliano had appointed Taylor Momsen as the muse for his fragrance and now... et voila! First look at the Taylor Momsen for John Galliano's fragrance, Parlez-moi d'amour advertising campaign. I think she's beautiful!

Ralph Lauren Collection "Pony" Totes

I am loving these new "Pony" totes from the Ralph Lauren Collection range especially the crested leather tote. They speak true to the brand's heritage and like what they say... camel is the new black. Prices range from US$395.00 to US$795.00. Visit Ralph Lauren for more details.

Jason Wu [MBFW S/S 11]

As we all know, fashion designer Jason Wu catapulted to overnight fame after dressing a certain iconic first lady that is into "high-low-couture-underground" fashion. This particular fashion season is vital to Wu as his collection will be the official launch of his full range of accessories which includes shoes, bags, and eyewear.

By far my favourite, the collection is the epitome of a woman's desired wardrobe - vibrant, sexy and ultra ladylike. Not to mention 'It' model, Lindsey Wixson worked the runway with another trend in hand - her prized gap-tooth. Through pieces, we see nuances of obscured schoolgirls, manhattan urbanite, fashion glamazona, exotica jetsetter... plain versatility of the collection! Sheer tops spell sexiness and sensuality. Wu's excellent tailoring is also apparent in his several pleated trousers and well-cut jackets. The colours and prints (inspired by Brazilian artist, Beatriz Milhazes) alongside details like ruffles, stripes, smart use of fabric petals enriched the aesthetic of his pieces. Wu's Spring/Summer '11 collection is a testament to his solid designing talent and business savviness.

BCBG Max Azria [MBFW S/S 11]

Simplicity with initial palette greetings of ivory, white, nudes and ash greys. A visible differentiation was the play of necklines among the pieces. The fluidity of silk and flowy form translate the idea of airiness and ease.

As the collection continues, a transition of colour occurs; soon the runway was illuminated by unexpected shades of vermilion and resplendent gold. There were also occasional touches of lace and embroidery to tantalise the femininity senses. The finale dress speaks true sentiment of the entire collection and the BCBG Max Azria woman - "Bon chic bon genre."
