Giles Deacon For Ungaro?
British designer Giles Deacon might be appointed as the next creative director for Parisian fashion house Emanuel Ungaro. WWD have reported that the designer had lunch at Le Relais Plaza in Paris with a table full of Ungaro executives, including owner Asim Abdullah. That is wonderful news because it will need someone like Giles Deacon to salvage whatever damage Lindsay Lohan and her heart-shaped pasties caused to the luxury label.

Igor + André
I am so glad that my favorite artist/illustrator, Danny Roberts (Igor + André) and his works are being featured in the May 2010 issue of Teen Vogue. His works are beautiful and extremely inspiring :)

Elizabeth & James Fall 2010 Collection
Instyle has the first look at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Elizabeth and James Fall 2010 collection. “The fall collection plays with texture and mixes comfort with fashion,” Mary-Kate told Instyle. Her and Ashley’s favorite piece would be “the silk drapey pant which is the new skinny pant as it is comfortable, flattering and looks great paired with heels,”
I adore each and every piece in the collection especially the signature blazers and jackets. The collection is extremely wearable and versatile; it also expresses the twins fashion-forward yet laid-back style.

Hollywood for Vogue Paris May 2010
Penélope Cruz guest-edited the May 2010 issue of French Vogue in which fellow A-list Hollywood actresses - Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julianne Moore, Kate Winslet and Naomi Watts - did an appearance on the three different covers for that month as well.
All ladies are wearing tees from Gap's (Product) Red collection. On one cover, Penélope Cruz poses with U2's front man, Bono.

Designers & Disney
I had an extremely bad day yesterday and these images brought a smile to my face! Fashion designers personified by Disney cartoon characters. Disney cartoonist Ulrich Schroder has ingeniously turned the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Stefano Gabbana & Domenico Dolce, John Galliano, Donatella Versace, John Paul Gaultier, Sonia & Nathalie Rykiel and Alber Elbaz into classic Disney characters for the April 2010 issue of Elle Spain.

Custo Barcelona S/S 2010 Presentation
Wednesday night, Custo Barcelona held a cocktail and canapes evening, to showcase its Spring/Summer 2010 collection presentation; and I was in attendance.

A brief introduction for those who are not familiar with the brand - Custo Barcelona was created in the early 1980's by the Dalmau brothers (Cusco and David) as they were inspired by various forms of art, culture and philosophy acquired during a motorcycle road-trip. The Spanish luxury label has been showing its collection at the New York Fashion Week (among many international fashion festivals such as Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Puerto Rico and Moscow) since 1997. Custo Barcelona's famous clientèle include Hollywood celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Bridget Fonda, Charlize Theron, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera. Currently Custo Barcelona possess a wide distribution net of more than 62 flagship stores in 45 cities and 20 countries across Europe. US, Latin America, Asia and Middle East.
Founder and designer Custo Dalmau has conceived a new term - Lowxury - to define the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Simply put, the collection is glamour with a twist of irreverent humour.
For Spring/Summer 2010, the pieces are adorned with prints such as lady's dressing tables, galloping horses, peacock feathers, microscopic plants and animals, fairy tale characters, dolls and Bengal tigers mix with girl explorers, surf chicks and eastern ladies, tropical flowers and leaves, pineapples and pansies, kittens and animal prints. Also expect beautification in the form of irregular stripes and lines, oriental borders and rosettes, pop prints and red lips from the main graphic element, together with letters and messages, signs and postage stamps. Cupids from a variety of traditions, lovebirds, butterflies and dragonflies, skulls in Elvis wigs, pot-smoking Jamaicans, and veteran boxers. All of these elements bring a touch of humor to the collection.
The collection consist of heavily-embellished chiffon dresses, flirty full-length dresses, crocheted halter tops, tunics and kaftans with flattering silhouettes; lace and sequinned fabric leggings. It was like entering a kaleidoscope. The myriad of bold prints and colors are insanely whimsical and beautiful.
Thanks to Custo Barcelona for the invitation. Visit Custo Barcelona's site to view the entire collection.
